Illustrated Talk
The Alverbank Hotel, Stokes Bay Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 2QT
Enjoy this illustrated talk on the history of pubs throughout the Gosport town area, those no longer standing and some still serving beers… How many will you remember?
In its third year, the Gosport Pubs: Past & Present talk details the history of local pubs from the last 250 years. The illustrated talk takes a trip around Gosport to the key suburbs, with maps showing the whereabouts of both current and long-forgotten pubs, along with old and recent pictures, plus information and stories about them… How many will you remember?
And, all of this within the charming setting of the Alverbank Hotel, itself a historic house that just happens to have a well-stocked bar should you wish to purchase something to whet your whistle in the interval.
