Presentation

FirstLight Trust Cafe, 68 High Street, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1DR

From 1950s boy sailor to the sailors who currently serve, you might hear about the runs ashore, the lifelong friendships, the funny stories, near incidents and the ships they served on. Perfect tales for this relaxed cafe run by First Light Trust…

For over 400 years the Royal Navy has been the pride of the British Isles, but it wouldn’t be the organisation it is today without the people who make up the crews of these ships and establishments.

Richard M Jones, historian & author, will share his own and some veteran’s experiences of serving their country in the senior service. Whilst drawing on some content from his latest book ‘Living the Dream, Serving the Queen’ (a common matelots response when asked how they are) Richard will deliver an informal presentation which will encourage participation from veterans at the event.

The talk is being held within a veterans community hub but is open to all.
