St. Marys Church, 32 High Street, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1DF
Step inside St Mary’s Church and discover the rich story of a Catholic parish shaped by faith and history, including a rare stained-glass window by Ninian Comper.
St Mary’s warmly invites you to explore its history as part of Heritage Open Days. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of this much-loved Catholic church, uncovering its origins, development, and place within the local community
A highlight of the visit is the church’s remarkable east window, a rare Catholic commission by Sir Ninian Comper, one of the most significant figures in Gothic Revival design. You will have the opportunity to learn about its history and the story behind its recent discovery.
Throughout the event, many of our parishioners/volunteers will share insights into Catholic worship, traditions, and the life of the parish.
