IN PERSON

Captivating stories of a local family history… an insightful presentation given by a local historian and author, Fran Box…
In the late 1700s, the Humby family of Gosport, took the bold step of joining the watermen and mariners of Gosport, later becoming the key founders of the Gosport Ferry Company.
Join us in learning about this humble family’s agricultural origins and the hardships the family faced. Each family member has their own memorable story that is intricately bound to the water, the sea and in some cases tied to the Royal Navy or Army.
During this presentation, you will also uncover glimpses of the colourful and long since vanished life of the small alleys and courts of the old Gosport town…
