  • Post category:Past Events

Guided walk

Meeting point – Royal Navy Submarine Museum Carpark, Haslar Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 2AS

PLEASE NOTE: As this event has had a low take-up from people using powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters, and as both No20. WalkAbout events are FULL,  it has now been opened up as a WalkAbout for able-bodied participants as well. The route will be much the same around the Haslar Peninsula but will use level surfaces and dipped kerbs for the safety of any scooters who will be partaking.

A wheelie good guided tour, designed especially for people with mobility impairment (using a powered wheelchair or mobility scooter) to enjoy.

During this circular ‘ScootAbout’ tour of the Haslar Peninsula, your Heritage Guide will describe the development of the area and stop at various historic points of interest along the way. The ‘crocodile’ of wheeled participants will enjoy a leisurely and informative scoot along Haslar Road before rolling along the sea wall to take in the wonderful harbour-mouth view. Along with the history and serenity of Haslar Cemetery participants also have the opportunity to appreciate the flora and fauna in their view.

Duration:approx 240 mins.
