Meet at the Gambier Drinking Fountain at bottom of High Street, High Street, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1DR
Join heritage guide, Carole Jarman, on a circular walk around the town and discover some interesting local history.
Meet at the drinking fountain at the bottom of Gosport High Street, opposite The Falklands Garden, then begin your walk along what was once North Street.
With help from photographs and maps, you’ll learn what the town was like in days gone by, and about the people and businesses who once frequented the area around 1900.
Going past Seahorse Walk (Biden’s Brewery) into Clarence Road (Fire Station, Barracks, Town Gate) and then turning into the High Street. You’ll hear about the shops, churches, theatres and way of life that Gosport once had.

The walk follows pavements and crosses at dipped kerbs, so suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Several large car parks within a short distance of meeting point
