Explore secrets of the deep and diving techniques through time, within a Victorian gun battery which now houses the award-winning Diving Museum… A great experience for all ages!
The Diving Museum houses a wide collection of diving equipment and information. It’s housed within the Victorian No 2 Battery of the Stokes Bay Lines.
The inventors of the diving helmet trialed and proved their design on wrecks in this area. The world’s oldest surviving example of the Deane Helmet is on display in the museum. Also many artifacts from military, scientific, commercial, and recreational diving history.
So, whether you’re an avid diver or just an inquisitive visitor, there is something here for everyone to explore. Activities for children and a chance to get ‘dressed’ in diving gear… And you can look around the massive outdoor diving exhibits.
Volunteers are on hand to give you a personal tour of the building and outdoor displays.
