During the winter of 1943 and the first half of 1944. Gosport played a major role in preparing for the D-Day embarkations and the conflict that followed.
In this illustrated talk, by The Gosport D-Day Fellowship, you’ll hear all about the planning, training and construction which happened locally in preparation for Operation Overlord, and the thousands of troops who passed through Gosport on their way to the beaches of Normandy, many never to return.
