Artist, Rich Oakes, tells the story of seven members of his family, all from Gosport, and depicts them through art forms…
I am local artist, Rich Oakes. This art exhibition focuses on the everyday history my family, past and present, shining a light on our Gosport heritage. Through my artwork, you will learn about my relatives, where they live(d), what hobbies they had, and jobs they did.
For example, my Granddad lived in Clarence Square, worked as a sail maker, and played football for Gosport Borough.
I will dress up each day to represent them!
In addition, I have lots of artwork in my studio that shows Gosport over the years.

Access
This event is held within Rich’s shop & studio so space may be limited for more than one or two wheelchairs at a time, but can generally accommodate up to 20 people. On-street parking in Stoke Road, or behind Stoke Road, in Jamaica Place South and North car parks.
Additional Information
A guideline of 30 minutes has been suggested however this is not a definitive time
