Presentation
Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Green, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1HL
CITiZAN, the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network, highlight the threat of coastal erosion around the Solent.
Run by CiTiZAN, this talk concentrates on climate change and human adaptability, what has been lost and what will be lost; particularly in the Solent Harbours Discovery Programme area.
We will look at Gosport’s changing landscapes from its earliest history, some 250,000 years ago, to the ending of the Bronze Age and the development of an island. This record discusses climate change throughout this period and the ever-fluctuating coastline that humans lived on, adapted too and exploited throughout time.
