Guided Tour
Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Haslar Jetty Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 2AS
The Saving Holland 1 tour will give the public the opportunity to meet a member of our Conservation team for a unique insight into the conservation techniques the museum uses to take care of the Royal Navy’s first submarine.
Holland 1 is a true icon of innovation and a vital part in the story of the Royal Navy and the birth of the submarine service. In 2021 we marked the 120th anniversary of this extraordinary craft and this tour will give visitors the chance to learn more about the challenges faced by our conservators who are dedicated to preserving her for at least another 120 years. There will be an opportunity to discover more about the tools and techniques employed, learn more about the incredible journey from the bottom of the sea to the museum and quiz our conservation team. Participants will receive a unique insight to Holland 1.
