Guided Walk
Forton Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 3JP
You’ll hear lots of local history snippets on this circular guided walk along the course of the old railway line from Gosport to Fort Brockhurst Station.
Amongst other things pointed out along the way, you’ll hear Railway Station Master’s stories, and see former crossing gates, junctions, and station houses.
You’ll also learn about prisoners of war in Gosport, and hear of accidents and escapees from Forton Prison.

On local bus route. Plenty of parking, including accessible. No toilets are available. Ground surface mainly pathways so very suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Sensible footwear for a 90 minute walk please. No refreshments so bring your own drink. Some rest points along the way. Bring your own fold-up stool/chair if you feel needed.
