Hear some spooky tales of psychic goings-on around Monks Walk from Don Styler, who has been tuned in to things spiritual there for more than 50 years.
Being held within the ‘end building,’ as it’s known, which was built in 1903 as part of the former Isolation Hospital and mortuary (now Don’s Physical Training Centre) this site has seen more than its fair share of death and dispair, so it is sure to ramp up the atmosphere of the evening.
In days gone by, there have been many stories of Pagan Rites and Rituals being practised on the land and tales of the Spirit Sprites that live within the woodland. These sprites have been seen today by Don, his family and many of the patrons of his gym.
Don is an amazing character and a terrific artist, especially proficient at his psychic drawing and he sketches spirit guides for his hobby. He is deeply shamanic and the ‘end building’ is full of totems, Indian head dresses and memorabilia, and you can be secure in the knowledge that the protection and safety of all involved is paramount.

ACCESS
The surfaces consist of uneven woodland and concrete pathway. There’s an entrance step and internal steps into the building so not suitable for wheelchairs. Please wear sensible shoes and mind your step. We’d also advise using mosquito repellent. Be aware that it will be dark when you leave so extra caution will be needed.
Some parking inside (especially for anyone with mobility impairment) and some in layby outside.
