On this circular walk of Alverstoke, your Heritage Guide will not only point out places of historic interest but also introduce you to the story of an extraordinary woman.
You’ll learn who Infanta (princess) Maria Francisca of Portugal was and how she became exiled to Gosport in 1833… and what became of her. The walk will cover the area from St Mary’s Church, The Rectory, The Creek, St Marks Churchyard and The Crescent before returning you into the heart of the Village.
