The Ramparts are part of the early fortifications erected around the town, as an extension of the defences of Portsmouth Harbour. The ‘Gosport Lines’ as they became known, were surrounded by dry moat areas. You’ll learn about this early history and look at how this area later became an important part of the Priddy’s Hard Ordnance supply depot.Lasts approx 2 hrsMeet at the Reception desk of Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower.Note: Entry to the Museum is not included (normal charges apply should you wish to visit the Museum). Event not suitable for children under the age of 12.

Sorry, no children under 12 years old, due to nature of tour. Some uneven ground. Only partial wheelchair access. Not suitable for pushcahirs or prams. Please bring sensible footwear.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The on site Cafe serves lovely refreshments and snacks which can be enjoyed in this scenic waterside setting. Also, whilst on site, why not visit the Lee on Solent Art Group Annual Exhibition in The Conference Centre. It is open for viewing from 1000-1600 both days so just pop in to see these local artworks and meet some of the artists.
