Royal Clarence Yard, Cooperage Green, Weevil Lane, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1FY
Explore the past glories of the former Royal Naval Victualling Yard at Weevil Lane. Several important listed buildings survive, including the former Bakery, Granary and Slaughterhouse, as well as the workshops of Cooperage Green and North Meadow.
Several of the listed buildings have been converted for modern use and include artists’ galleries, café/restaurants, salons and other businesses and organisations. There is also an active marina.
The Royal Clarence Waterfront has one of the best views across Portsmouth Harbour to the Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower. This is truly one of Gosport’s hidden gems.
During Heritage Open Days, Royal Clarence Yard will be hosting a number of events as part of their Heritage Festival, some of which are listed as individual Heritage Open Days events, including bookable guided heritage walks all four days. The weekend will bring a number of events to Royal Clarence Yard which can be enjoyed by the whole family. These will include:
• A Vintage Fair
• A food Fair on the Waterfront
• Music on the Waterfront
• Vintage buses in the Cooperage
• Heritage vessels in the Marina
