This new tour will guide you through several centuries of history related to the western end of Stokes Bay. Hear about ancient flint tool findings, bog myrtle used to make Saxon ale, strategic defensive positions, buried barrels of smuggled french wine, brickworks that supplied material for important local buildings, grand private residences and gardens. You’ll follow the tale as you follow along some of the River Alver. Be prepared for exploring wooded areas and climbing some inclines so bring your walking shoes!
