Activity

Gosport Museum and Art Gallery, The Roberts Room, 19 Walpolenew events Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1NS

The surprising story of the many animals who supported the armed forces throughout history and in so doing connected us with people and places across the globe.

As the Royal Navy and the Army travelled around the world they made connections with people of all nations and made connections with a surprising number of animals from around the world.

Pop along to this session and enjoy a running on-screen presentation and also a tabletop activity to learn about which animals supported soldiers and sailors and which were a problem for the Royal Navy!

Mike Williams, author & speaker, will regale you with stories of lions, tigers, elephants, and many more animals of the Royal Navy. The Navy even had its own Zoo!
