Explore the heritage of Bury Road and Stoke Road, as far as Walpole Park where the tour will end, with well-known local historian, Lesley Burton. You’ll be enlightened to the features of many interesting buildings that we so often miss as we go about our busy lives in the main shopping areas of the town.

This walk will be on public footpaths with dipped curbs at road junctions. Accessible for powered or assisted wheelchairs and pushchairs. Various public toilets, shops for provisions along the way.

Lesley Burton was involved in the very first pilot of European Heritage Days held in England, in Gosport in 1992! Two years later Heritage Open Days was officially adopted. She has remained engaged with it ever since. As a founder of this amazing national event, our local organising body have been proud to honour Lesley as Patron of Gosport Heritage Open Days.
