Guided Tour
Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Haslar Jetty Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 2AS
Meet ‘John Holland’ the incredible inventor of Holland 1-the Royal Navy’s first submarine-and take part in a sensory, interactive story tour all about his amazing life and engineering genius. Aimed at children aged 5-11 but suitable for all ages.
Join us for a fun filled tour led by a storyteller acting as inventor John Holland. In 1901 Holland 1 became the Royal Navy’s first submarine and blazed a trail for the development of underwater warfare. The tour will help children to explore how and why John Holland invented a submarine and what it was like to live under the waves in a craft like Holland 1. This playful story tour will weave together STEM concepts and sensory exploration to help our mini engineers discover more about this incredible submarine. During the day Busy Boats Bay will be open and children can enjoy a special Mini Engineers play day before and after their tour.
