Even if you don’t ‘win’ you’re bound to come away having learnt something new about somewhere old.

The Clarence Tavern is one of the oldest “Coach Houses” in the South of England and one of Gosport’s original watering holes. It is well known for a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and its great range of real ales brewed locally. Your hosts say “You may enter a stranger, but you will leave a friend.”

Please arrive early to get a seat.

People attending the Quiz might also wish to look out for the display boards depicting ‘Fragments of France’ cartoons from WW1, drawn by prominent British cartoonist Captain Bruce Bairnsfather, whose best-known character is ‘Old Bill’. You can view these amusing images whilst enjoying your favourite tipple any day 7th-10th Sept from 1400 to 2300 hours.
