Guided Tour

Haslar Marina, Haslar Road, PO12 1NU – Meet at Haslar Marina Pontoon

Please be advised that Haslar Bridge is closed to vehicles but NOT to pedestrians and cyclists

The lightship is widely regarded as the best preserved lightship in the country, and indeed Europe.  She was built by Phillips and Sons of Dartmouth in 1945 for Trinity House.  She was the first lightship to be commissioned after the war, when many lightships were lost, and was the first of a series of 23 ships, all built to a similar design for Phillips.  Although now converted into a Restaurant/Bar, many of the original features remain.  Come and see the basic conditions onboard.  In particular learn about the hard life of the crew at sea, both on and off watch.
