Step back in time on this guided walk along the route of the old Stokes Bay branch line and hear about some interesting characters involved along the way…
Stokes Bay Station was built to allow public travel to the Isle of Wight. Hear about the railway gateman and how his name lives on; and record of why Queen Victoria travelled this way on occasion.
Learn about the Regency architecture of The Crescent and Gardens, and on the return, encounter some historical characters, including an aspiring Queen of Spain and a jazz musician whose name is a major part of Gosport to this day.

There is a small public car park behind the pub. Please arrive 10 minutes before start time and look for your Guide outside White Hart holding a pink HODs H. Please bring a drink and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

This walk is a circular route. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The tour begins promptly. Please arrive by 9:50 to check in.
