Made by local children for local children (and even inquisitive adults) to follow!
Use your phone to follow an experimental pop-up QR code trail, and discover fascinating stories about people associated with the history of Haslar Hospital…
You’ll need to pack a smartphone with mobile data, some good walking shoes, water and a few light snacks to keep you going!
The trail starts at Gosport Tourist Information Centre, taking participants along Gosport Waterfront and past Haslar Hospital to finish at Haslar Hospital Cemetery in Clayhall Road. On the way, hunt for our 6 QR code way markers which, when scanned with your mobile device, reveal short films created by students about characters from history connected to Haslar’s past adventures with the world.
The trail will take about 90 minutes to follow one-way, and 30 minutes to return back the same way or across Gosport Park. Alternatively, you could arrange for someone to pick you up at the Cemetery when you finish, or catch the number 11 bus back from the Cemetery into central Gosport.
If for any reason you cannot pick up the stories on the walking trail, you will always be able to have a look online when you get home too, if you want. The link will be live throughout the festival dates.
