This site was originally the military Isolation Hospital but nowadays, beyond the gymnasium block is the art studio and spiritual centre of owner and big personality, Don Styler.
Interested in art since boyhood, he worked 17 years as a glamour model photographer. His humour mixed with love of the female form developed into his own style of ‘saucy’ sketching, and his connection with Native American culture is clear from the frames which adorn his walls.
Don is known the world over for his psychic artwork, where he acts as a medium for drawing the spirit guides of his clients. So expect the unexpected on this whistle-stop visit into Don’s lifelong love of art.

The surfaces consist of uneven woodland and concrete pathway. There’s an entrance step and a few internal steps in the building so not suitable for wheelchairs. Please wear sensible shoes and mind your footing. We’d also strongly advise using mosquito repellent. This is not a tour of the whole site so visitors should stay within the areas specified by their guide. No exercise equipment should be touched.

Monks Walk is a single track roadway through an area popular for dog walking, so please drive carefully on approach. The Physical Training Centre is on the left hand side. Look for pink Heritage Open Day sign. Please park outside and wait by the gate for your tour guide to meet you.
