Discover the story of Gosport Park and the area on this circular guided walk, laced with lots of snippets of local history along the route.
Your Guide will lead you past the sites of Hasleworth Castle and Gosport’s velodrome. You’ll learn about Gosport’s success in carriage and bicycle racing; and what went on in Alverstoke’s House of Industry. You’ll discover who Charles Mumby was; what happened at Forton Hospital and The Park Tavern, and why Gosport Park had so many tents in fields in the 1700s…
Please meet your Guide, 10 minutes before the start time, beside the White Hart Pub.

Access
The route is fully accessible for wheelchairs and prams, being on public pathways. There is a small car park beside the White Hart Pub and we’d suggest that Blue Badge holders arrive early to secure spots there. Other on-road parking. No toilets or refreshments on the route, although customers of the White Hart may use their facilities. Please feel free to bring a fold-up chair/stool for resting at stop points.

Suitable footwear for walking is advised. Bring your own refreshment. On a bus route.
