Step Back in Time with the Victorian Explorers!

Discover history like never before at our immersive, outdoor living-history encampment, within the grounds of Fort Brockhurst. Peek inside an authentic historical Bell tent and meet our costumed guides, ready to share tales of 19th-century discovery.

Touch the Past: Get hands-on with a vast collection of genuine historical tools and equipment. Curious minds of all ages are welcome. Perfect for inquisitive children and families eager to explore history up close.

Please note: For preservation reasons, our delicate wildlife and plant specimens are for display only. And some specimens on display have very sharp teeth and spines, so please do not touch.

No need to book, just turn up and enjoy

Access

Ground surfaces can be uneven so please watch your footing. The area of this event is fully accessible for wheelchair users, however some other areas of the fort have steps into rooms. Car park in Gunners Way. Other parking on-road in the area. Please do not use The Range car park unless you are also shopping there. Toilets available on site but not accessible. The Range has a cafe, toilets (inc. accessible), for It’s customers only.

 

 

Additional Information 

Last entry to the fort may be from 3.15pm, to allow for an enjoyable visit before the site closure. Fort Brockhurst will also have other activities, please enquire about these at the entrance when arriving.

Directions 

On the E1 and E2 route from Fareham and Gosport. The fort is a short walk from the bus stop. Pedestrian entry off Gunners way, by The Range store.
