This presentation explains the Royal Navy’s use of Press Gangs.
Mike Williams will be giving a talk about the Royal Navy Impress Service, better known as the Press Gang.
People were never sure if this practice was really legal. So in this Power Point presentation he will explore the history of these gangs of sailors who went around town, including Gosport, grabbing men in pubs and taking them off to sea to join the navy.

The venue is level access, with a ramped entrance. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time to get seated and comfy. The bar will be open for hot and cold drinks before and after the talk, should you wish to purchase. The Alverbank is a Grade 2 listed building with stunning views across the Solent.
