The 2017 NAS conference titled “Discovery is just the beginning” will be held in Portsmouth, on the weekend of the 18th-19th November with social events on the 17th and the 20th November.

The conference will be a showcase with many papers exploring the impact and legacy of the NAS Education Programme and NAS projects on the discipline of nautical archaeology around the world.

The 2017 conference has been kindly supported by Historic England, Dive Master Insurance, the British Sub-Aqua Club, MSDS Marine, Wessex Archaeology and The Mary Rose Trust.

Friday 17th November 2017: from 19.00

Please do join us for a social drink at the Royal Maritime Club on Queen Street, PO1 3HS from 7pm.

Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th November 2017

From 6pm delegates are welcome to join us for drinks and a three course dinner at The Old Customs House, Gunwharf Quays, PO1 3TY. We are sorry that this venue is not wheelchair friendly as there is no lift in the building.

Monday 20th November 2017: meeting at 10.00

Join us for a tour behind the scenes of the Mary Rose Museum with NAS Vice President, Chris Dobbs, Head of Interpretation at the Mary Rose Trust. Tickets limited to 20 people. Maximum of two tickets per booking. You will also have access the the museum in the afternoon.
