The Gosport Area Facebook Group has over 22,000 members from near and far, all associated with Gosport in some way and loving its heritage. The exhibition brings some of the best images from their virtual vault into hard copy for all to view…
Since 2013, hundreds of thousands of precious memories and over 5,000 images have been shared online, many photos and documents from private family records. Pubs, shops, transport of all kinds, roads and coastal views, public services, defence, leisure venues, celebrations and local celebrities, all feature.
New features for 2021 include…
* photos of local VE/VJ Day street parties.
* memories from the first Gosport Music Festival at Walpole Park 30 years ago, with photos, programmes and videos.
Come along and meet other people who remember the Gosport of their youth and have tales to tell handed down from forebears. Bring along your own old photos or documents to show around. Arrange to meet old friends here for a leisurely catch-up whilst perusing the displays and laughing at times shared. You might even find yourself in one of the photos!
