Show / Display
The Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team Clubhouse (by entrance gate), Explosion Museum, Heritage Way, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 4LE
NOTICE: Weather attacks us on Sun 8th! The promised re-enactment WILL NOT TAKE PLACE THEN as it will be too wet and the models will be damaged. Instead, visitors can see the models in the Clubhouse on the left next to the Heritage Way entrance.
So as not to disappoint, The Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team has kindly agreed to put on an extra event on SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER, with the outside ‘battle’ reenactment, maybe with pyrotechnics to help it go off with a bang!
To commemorate D-Day 80, The Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team, to will mount an arena ‘battle’ to liberate a French village.
The Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team, throw open the doors to their Clubhouse and invite visitors to view their large static display of models of all types, along with model-building projects and hints and tips for aspiring modelers, both young and old.
And then, in an exciting arena event, radio-controlled model ships and tanks will show how Allied forces landed on French soil and attacked a French village occupied by German Forces. This will be commentated to aid the audience in understanding what is happening in the show.
Please note: Entry to the Explosion Museum is not part of this event. However, the cafe and toilets there are available.
