Enjoy a guided walk of Royal Clarence Victualling Yard, the former supply base for the Navy.

Hear about how this victualling yard developed over time from the mid-1700s, with a focus on the supply of food and drink to the Royal Navy (it was once referred to as ‘the larder of the Navy’) with associated inventions and innovations.  Enjoy stories and anecdotes about the people who lived and worked within the yard.

Mainly hard level ground, with some dropped kerbs, but an occasional step. The first hour is walking and standing but there are opportunities to sit and listen at stop-locations after that. Feel free to bring along fold-up chair or stool if you need to sit before then. Refreshments are available at The Pump House Cafe and other venues before or after the walk. 4 hrs free parking in Cooperage Green in bays marked V (for Visitors). Please check the notices in car park.
