53. Fort Brockhurst:  Military Past Comes Alive!

Fort Brockhurst, Gunners Way, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 4DS

For the first time, Fort Brockhurst offers displays and activities from various periods of history, in this event which spans the entire past of the fort.

An action-packed event with living history displays and military reenactment filling the fort with activity and atmosphere from start to finish.  Have your camera ready to capture such sights as soldiers practicing their drill, Victorian ladies taking tea on the lawn, soldier encampments, horses, and cannon and muskets firing!  Even some Luftwaffe pilots will be there, along with other WW1 & WW2 characters.

Children will love this event, and can join in activities.   And, don’t not forget that you also have the whole fort to explore!   Bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Last entry at 1500 to allow for an enjoyable experience before 1600 finish.

Ground surfaces can be uneven so please watch your footing. Due to stepped entrances to some rooms, these inside areas may not be accessible for wheelchair users. Dogs on leads are welcome. Please be aware that horses will be on-site and musket firing will be taking place during displays. Limited seating onsite so a fold-up stool/chair can be useful to bring for resting.  Car park in Gunners Way. Other parking on-road in the area. Please do not use the Range car park unless you are also shopping there.
