Meet at Gilkicker Car Park, Stokes Bay, Gosport, Hampshire
Join the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network (CITiZAN) team for an exploration along our beautiful, historically significant shoreline at Stokes Bay.
On this walk, from the Sailing Club to The Diving Museum at No 2 Battery, we will explore some of the intriguing remains from D-Day preparations which included the construction of the Phoenix caissons, part of the Mulberry Harbours and the embarkation of large numbers of troops.

Walking shoes or trainers are recommended. The walk is entirely outdoors, so please consider the weather – insect repellent, sunscreen or an umbrella may be necessary.
This event will be subject to local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival. Your Guide will have hand sanitiser available and will advise on social distancing throughout the walk. Please do not attend the event if you feel unwell or have been in any contact with anyone who has displayed Coronavirus symptoms.
