The Ritz Cinema at St Vincent
The Ritz Cinema at St Vincent will be launching their full spring programme on 14th Dec, just before the screening of Churchill, but they want to give you advance warning of their first film so you can get the date in your diaries. They are launching our 2018 season with arguably the best film of 2017, a powerful recreation of the Dunkirk evacuation of World War 2 and a film with a strong local connection given that many of the ariel sequences were filmed using HMS Daedelus as a base, and of course not forgetting that numerous boats sailed from the Gosport and Portsmouth area to take part in the real evacuation in 1940.
They are also delighted to welcome Alan Watson of the HMS Medusa trust to introduce the film. Medusa is moored in Gosport and was used in the film. Alan will be able to discuss the history of this fascinating vessel and provide an insight into its role in the film.
The Ritz Cinema at St Vincent’s hope you will join them for what promises to be a brilliant start to 2018 at the Ritz. Tickets will be on sale from the 14th Dec.
