Regency Crescent Gardens (Event from 2017)

Guided Tour

Crescent Road, Alverstoke, Gosport, PO12 2DH

Crescent Gardens is faithfully re-created Regency gardens and was a part of the Architect Thomas Owen’s grand design for a Crescent building in 1826. During the tour the history of the Garden and the locality is described. The Regency period was considered a romantic time and this is reflected in the layout of Crescent Gardens, with lots of curves and highly perfumed flowers.
During recent times Crescent Garden has been awarded 10 Green Flags and other awards. The garden contains over a hundred types of plants and is maintained by the green-fingered volunteers who are Friends of Crescent Gardens, in cooperation with Gosport Borough Council.
