The Hovercraft Museum, Daedalus Site Seafront Gate, Marine Parade West, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, PO13 9NS
The Hovercraft Museum collection is unique, irreplaceable and inspiring, including five craft listed on The National Historic Ships’ register. It’s a great visit for fact-loving enthusiasts and also families who just wanna have fun…
Situated on a Transport Heritage Site, the museum has over 50 Hovercraft on display including military, commercial, multi-purpose, rescue, survey, exploration, racing, fun and recreational. In size, they range from the smallest to the largest commercial car carrying hovercraft in the world.
Run and supported entirely by volunteers, the purpose of the museum centres around enjoyment, education and inspiration by sight, sound, touch and understanding. There are fun activities for all ages, lots to see and do! We offer free guided tours.
During this special Heritage Open Day, we will also be partnering up with Hovertravel, who will be running pleasure flights from the slipway opposite the museum. So you can watch a working hovercraft in action!
