The Airfield Museum gives the history of the surrounding area used as an airfield from 1909-1956. Learn about the world’s first “Top Gun” establishment 1917-19, and how the ‘Gosport’ method of flying training was adopted by the world.
Two museums in the grounds of HMS Sultan.
The Marine Engineering Museum gives the history of marine engineering in the Royal Navy. Displaying a collection of Records, Artefacts and Memorabilia covering Marine Engineering training in HMS Sultan, Fisgard and Caledonia from 1903 to present day.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of tour.
Family-friendly but children must be fully supervised. Event is not suitable for children under the age of five.
This tour is held in conjunction with two other events at HMS SULTAN. Visitors should book each tour they wish to join at separate times in the day.
Please arrive 10 minutes before start of tour, tours last approx 90 mins.

The Marine Engineering Museum is on upper floor, accessible via stairs only, so not suitable for wheelchairs.
