HMS Sultan, Military Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 3BY

The Airfield Museum gives the history of the surrounding area used as an airfield from 1909-1956. Learn about the world’s first “Top Gun” establishment 1917-19, and how the ‘Gosport’ method of flying training was adopted by the world. Look out for one of Gosport’s astounding inventions, ‘The Gosport Tube’.

The Marine Engineering Museum gives the history of marine engineering in the Royal Navy. Displaying a collection of Records, Artefacts and Memorabilia covering Marine Engineering training in HMS Sultan, Fisgard and Caledonia from 1903 to the present day.

Family-friendly but children must be fully supervised. Not suitable for children under the age of five.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the tour.

This tour is held in conjunction with two other events at HMS SULTAN. Visitors should book each tour they wish to join at separate times in the day.

The Marine Engineering Museum is on upper floor, accessible via stairs only, so not suitable for wheelchairs.

This is a military site so security requirements will be in force. Bags & cars may be searched. Photo ID is required on arrival. Parking is available on-site. Please provide your car registration number when booking. Please give details for ALL people on your booking. Booked places are non-transferable.
