Explosion! the Museum of Naval Firepower, Royal Naval Armament Depot, Priddys Hard, Heritage Way, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 4LE or Hovercraft Museum

The Provincial Society are proud to present Gosport’s Green Buses, a gathering of the famous green and cream buses of the Provincial Bus Company.

Come and join us for a trip down memory lane as we present a selection of buses that have plied their trade in the streets of Gosport for well over a hundred years. Visitors can also meet the volunteers from the Society who restore and maintain an historic fleet of buses which date from the 1940’s to the early 2000’s.

Ding-Ding. Hold Tight, Please! You might also like to take a free ride on a heritage bus to and from the Explosion Museum site, calling at Gosport Bus Station, The Submarine Museum, The Diving Museum and The Hovercraft Museum.

Duration: Allow 60 minutes.

Please note: Explosion Museum is not part of HODs, but it will be open for visitors at the usual charge.

No Booking Needed Just turn up and enjoy


Blue Badge Parking is available on site and accessible toilets are available within the café area of the Museum. A majority of the preserved historic buses in the Provincial Society collection have steps and stairs which may make access difficult for mobility-impaired visitors.

This event will run in line with local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival.
