Fort Brockhurst opens its doors to welcome visitors of all ages. Special community activities in place for HODs.

Special Exhibition – For the WWI centenary, there will be displays of work inspired by local community groups about Gosport and the role of its people during 1914-18. Also, some WW1 related talks by local speakers.
Lots of family fun to enjoy- *Try on genuine army uniform and envisage life for a soldier and his family; *Learn your 3 R’s in the Victorian Schoolroom at 12:00 & 13:30; *See what toys Victorian children played with; *Quiz sheets and colouring activities.
Explore old objects on the Discovery Desk and discover the fort’s current role as a major Collection Centre for English Heritage, housing thousands of fantastic artefacts that span wide eras of time and place.
There will be many other community activities around the fort too, including a ‘poppy-making workshop’. Please check before event for full content.

No Booking Needed
Wheelchair access to ground level. One step up to some areas. Main exhibition areas have ramp access. Surface areas include cobble, shingle, grass, concrete. Steep inclines up to the ramparts but can be managed with pushchairs. Dogs, including service dogs, on leads are welcome. Disabled parking on site by prior arrangement only to 07932 732865.
