Show / Display
Alverstoke Parish Centre, Green Road, Gosport, PO12 2ET
Quilt making is a tradition that dates back to at least the 12th Century and was usually a parlour activity for wealthy ladies. Our Alverstoke Quilters have no airs and graces but have kept the skill alive and vibrant in the Village since a small group first met around a kitchen table back in 1992. They swiftly outgrew that table and now a friendly bunch of like-minded people meet weekly in the Parish Centre to indulge in their passion for textile and stitch.
At their Quilt Show for HODs there will be lots of textile works on display including their fantastic ‘Images of Alverstoke 2012′ quilt which used material and thread to stitch together the history of the village. There will also be demonstrations, a raffle, goodies to buy and refreshments on the day.
