This year we’ve been writing stories about lots of the exciting bookable events that are available to you.
We’ve written about Alverstoke and St Mark’s churchyard, the wonderful military Haslar Hospital and the Royal Naval Cemetery But there is also a walk around the famous Haslar Gunboat Yards where it’s your only chance to see inside a gunboat yard built by the British Navy. Continuing the nautical theme one from Hardway to Elson where the guide will talk about the area’s social history.
We’ve written about the Diving museum, but there’s also a popular guided walk from there along the coast to Stanley Park.
Food innovations have been written about linking to the guided walks at Royal Clarence Yard and there is also a guided tour of the latest Powder Monkey Brewery and talk on beer. But did you know there is also a Hardway historic heritage pub quiz and a talk on Gosport pubs past and present?
This year again we have visits to HMS Sultan to see its museum’s, its fort and its aircraft and the RN Submarine Museum and Explosion!
There are 30 non bookable events to explore and you’ll find some stories on these in the run up to Gosport Heritage Open Days on Friday 9 September 2022 when the first events start!
